Closed up shops

Was surprised on an outing today to notice that the Turf Accounts next to Tony's is shut. Then further down Griffin Road that the recently opened King's Restaurant has been shut and there is a bailiff's order on the door. Admittedly I never visited either establishment...not a gambler and found the King's restaurant to be a bit too foreboding. But it's a shame to see places closing down all the same.
Mind you, prime sites so they will, hopefully, be snapped up soon by some enterprising bods.

the Accountants has been shut for a while but the Kings restaurant closure is new...The turf shop would make an ideal cafe (already next to a grubby one) but it could be a lovely spot...
There is lots of building going on by the station as well, I am hoping for a costa coffee whilst waiting for the unreliable southeastern trains! About time the high street got tidied up a bit.

I have read that a costa coffee franchise can cost 750k so doubt very much one would open around here.
I guess we will have to make do with Macs :S

I live in hope as there is one at Woolwich station - plus one in the new Tesco in Welling...they are creeping ever closer!

Anon, I noticed that the coffee place inside Bexley Mall is changing to Costa Coffee so maybe you are right.

Now at least two opportunities for someone prepared to take a shot on the Common itself, with not only the bookies (which has been shut a good few months now) and, finally after laying empty apart from its brightly lit display of bathtubs) the former A Blair store on the corner has been to-let for 2 weeks now (though am sure its an A1 use only)...
